School Holds Surprise “Gay” Day for kindergarteners
People, I’m not making this stuff up. For all of you out there that are buying the lies from the No on 8 commercials, here’s more proof of the unintended consequences of approving same-sex marriage in California. This week, Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science in Hayward, California is celebrating Gay and Lesbian History month by holding a “Coming Out Day”. A Kindergartner told her mother that she is “learning to be allies” with homosexuals. Parents WERE NOT given an opt-out notice. Need I say more?

State Superintendent Jack O’Connell Speaks Against Prop 8
Have you seen the new t.v. commercial by California State Superintendent of Instruction Jack O’Connell? In the ad, he states, “our schools are not required to teach anything about marriage. . .and using kids to lie about that is shameful.”
What’s the truth? Well, technically, Mr. O’Connell is correct. Schools are not REQUIRED to teach about marriage. But, here are the facts he conveniently left out of his commerical . . .
1. Sex Education is optional for schools, but 96% of all schools surveyed by the California Department of Education state that they DO teach it.
2. For those 96% of the schools that choose to teach sex ed, they MUST teach “respect for marriage and committed relationships”
3. If California redefines marriage, then for those 96% of our schools, the discussion during sex ed will be redefined as well.

My Favorite Prop 8 Blogs
O.k. As many of you know, and as you can see in my blogroll, there are many, many proposition 8 blogs out there. Some of us are pretty clunky with our words, but others have the gift of gab. I thought I’d point you to some of my favorite Yes on 8 blogs, and I would encourage you to NOT visit the No on 8 blogs and post comments. All it does is give them more internet traffic. Spend your time making thoughtful comments on blogs IN FAVOR of Marriage between a man and a woman.
